Keep Calm and Carry On

There are no words to express how I feel right now.

You hear about it happening at universities a long way from wherever you are. But you never expect to have it happen near you. Or to a close friend.

Today, it was announced that my friend James was found dead in his room yesterday.

We hadn't heard from him in about a week, but thought nothing of it - we were on exam leave so didn't expect to hear anyway.

But when do you think it is time to break down the door? For all we knew, he had gone home for some family emergency or something.

I feel numb.
