Keep Calm and Carry On

I think it's trying to rain. It's really humid. There were a few fat drops of water earlier on (and yes, I went through the 'Has a bird just shit on my head?' paranoia) but so far it's held off.

I think we could do with it. My cats keep coming in covered in dust - what is it about the crazy animals that compels them to roll in grit? And things always smell better after a downpour.

But never mind.

I caught myself avoiding the cracks in the pavement today. I remember doing this for years when I was younger. I can't quite recall what happened if you dared tread on a crack - but it wasn't pleasing, I know that much.

In the end, I think I broke myself of the habit by convincing myself that the person in charge of punishing such trespasses was fond of really long tea breaks, so was never around to catch me.

Sometimes I think I need therapy.
