Keep Calm and Carry On

The referral was not the most comfortable of experiences, I can tell you.

I don't know what it was - the sterile white walls, the antiseptic smell or the brisk no nonsense nurse. Could have been a combination. Whatever it was, my body confidence plummeted, so I was very nervous when I had to go in and strip off in front of the specialist.

A man old enough to be my grandfather. Yeah - that's going to make me feel better...

Suffice to say, it was not pleasing. And what's with having to cough hard while the man has a leathery old hand clamped to parts of your anatomy?

I came out of there feeling like I needed to get to the pub, immediately.

So I did.

Which is why I've only just got round to writing in here - fighting off another lovely hangover.
